Shannon + Owen | Charleston Anniversary

What’s better than a Charleston Anniversary Session? A Charleston anniversary session with some of your dearest friends!! Shannon is one of the first friends I made when I moved to Charleston. She oriented me to the floor when I first started at the Children’s Hospital and has been one of my good friends ever since! So, when Shannon asked if I could take some one-year wedding anniversary photos for her and her husband Owen, I said YES!!

Shannon and Owen planned their wedding during the pandemic and got married in early 2021. They held an intimate ceremony with close family and friends at St Phillips Church, followed with a reception at Parcel 32 in downtown Charleston. Since they got engaged in the height of the pandemic, they weren’t able to get their engagement photos taken. So Shannon thought if they couldn’t get engagement photos, they might as well celebrate their one-year anniversary as husband + wife with a portrait session!! (To which I COMPLETELY agreed).

For their session, we wandered around the historic streets of Downtown Charleston. Both Shannon and Owen grew up in the area, so they were able to pick out some of their favorite spots. We started off on the cobblestone roads of Adgars Warf, wandered down Meeting Street and I got my first photo with a carriage horse photo bomb (which you will see below!). After wandering the historic streets, we finished up the session on the pier near Waterfront Park.

So glad to have these two as friends, and even happier they trusted me to take these photos for them!!
