Valentines day came early for Anna, because she got some new bling on her RING FINGER!! And what a romantic proposal, only two days before Valentines Day, in front of the ICONIC pink Mills House – one of Charleston’s most popular sights!!
In early February, Sam reached out to me on Instagram. He and his girlfriend Anna were taking a weekend trip to Charleston in the coming weeks. Sam wanted to make the trip EXTRA sweet by proposing to Anna during their visit. Since Sam and Anna were from out of town, I gave Sam some location ideas and helped him plan the proposal into their itinerary.
When chatting with Sam about their plans, Sam told me Anna wanted to walk around downtown and get brunch one morning. So I figured a quick walk past the Mills House would be the perfect spot for him to pop the question. I mean, does a proposal backdrop get much cuter than the pink walls, palm trees, and white window details of the Mills House?!
Saturdays in downtown Charleston are almost ALWAYS busy. It’s a popular area full of shops and restaurants, so there’s always people walking around. Thankfully when the morning of the proposal arrived, the streets by the Mills House were near empty. Perfect for a proposal! Sam and Anna walked past the Mills House on the way to brunch. It was then that Sam stopped Anna and got down on one knee to propose! The look on Anna’s face is absolutely priceless – such excitement!! It was definitely a moment she couldn’t believe was really happening!! If you want to see a video of the proposal, check out my Instagram reel HERE!
After Sam proposed, we took some newly engaged photos, including a close up of Anna’s new bling. Sam personally designed her ring with the help of a local jeweler. The ring features an oval center stone with a diamond on each side. As we finished up their photos, we got graced with my favorite Charleston photo bomb – a carriage tour horse!!
It was SO fun meeting these two and photographing this big moment in their lives!!
