Hannah and James had the most BEAUTIFUL day for their Charleston wedding in mid-November. The two first met in Hannah’s parents living room in 2019. James was friends with Hannah’s brother and came over to watch a football game. After months of friendship, the two started dating. They spent the majority of their relationship long distance, as James is in the Navy, and Hannah in nursing school. James is currently stationed here in Charleston, so they decided Charleston was the perfect place to say their “I do’s!” I met up with Hannah and James over the summer for their engagement photos, which you can see HERE!! Within minutes of meeting, I could tell the two of them have such a joyful love for one another. It made me so excited for their Charleston wedding ceremony at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church in Summerville and reception at the Grand Bohemian Hotel.
ST JOHN THE BELOVED CATHOLIC WEDDING CEREMONY
Hannah wore an updated version of her mother’s Priscilla of Boston wedding gown. The lace details were absolutely stunning and paired so well with Hannah’s statement earrings from Olive and Piper. It was so simple yet chic!! James and his groomsmen were dressed in their U.S. Navy Mess Dress Attire. I love it when grooms wear their uniforms!!
Hannah walked down the aisle with her father, holding a beautiful bouquet made by her aunt, who is a florist!! As soon as James saw Hannah, tears were immediately shed. He was SO excited to see his beautiful bride!! Hannah and James had a traditional catholic wedding mass, with Hannah’s hometown priests officiating. It was a beautiful ceremony depicting not only Hannah and James love for each other, but their love for God.
GRAND BOHEMIAN HOTEL ROOFTOP RECEPTION
After Hannah and James became husband and wife, we headed to the historic streets of downtown for portraits before the reception. We began with wedding party photos at Hibernian Hall followed by bride and groom portraits on a nearby cobblestone street. There was the most DREAMY sunlight peeking through the trees for the final minutes of Hannah + James’ portraits!
The reception was held on the rooftop of the Grand Bohemian Hotel. Cocktail hour was held on the outdoor deck, followed by a plated dinner inside. Hannah and James had a private cake cutting before speeches began. After speeches were finished, the Emerald Empire Band got the party going!! The dance floor was occupied all night. Guests who were not in the dancing mood were able to relax and chat outside by the fire pits. Once they were all danced out, Hannah + James left the reception via a pedicab. Congrats on a beautiful day Hannah + James, and cheers to a happy marriage!!
